    Torque converter noise??

OK after being at one of the most reputable Ford dealers in the area I have a $160.00 bill and still no answers. They have no idea what the noise is. They do acknowledge a noise exists, but can't tell we what it is. They did say "it might be normal". Give me a break! They know what's normal...

Stall sometimes after hard stop (due to low idle)

New situation...my stalling problem has now become bad enough that I needed to take it to a Ford servicer. It's now doing the "stalls at red light" thing several times a day. I'll post if and when I get a fix.

Stall sometimes after hard stop (due to low idle)

    Torque converter noise??

Yes...same "rattle" noise. In fact, I first noticed it in park. At that time I was attributing it to something loose in the exhaust system. The sudden realization that the noise completely disappears when the torque converter locks up made me reconsider that hypothesis. Yes Didn't check...

    Torque converter noise??

Gentlemen...I have an 03 4.6L Explorer with a strange noise. It has, as best as I can describe it, a rattle that seems to be coming from the torque converter area. The noise occurs at idle and while accelerating until the TC locks up, at which point it stops completely. My mechanical...

    Yet another rattle question

I have done several searches, but nothing seems to fit my problem. I have an '03 Explorer 4.6L with 66K miles. It has, for lack of a better description, a rattle coming from the lower rear area of the engine. The noise is evident at idle, once the engine is warm. It also occurs on the road...
