    Stupid transmission question

Ok guys before I ask this I will say right up front I have no clue about transmissions. Will the A4LD out of an Aerostar fit in a 92 Explorer 4X4? A friend just blew his engine but rebuilt the transmission a few months ago. He will sell it to me cheap to get some money back. Thanks for any...

    Where to get MileMarker hubs

Does anyone know where I can get the new MileMarker hubs for the Explorer? My auto hubs are shot and I want to change them out and figured I would give the MileMarkers a try. I went to our local Auto Zone and they looked at me like I was an idiot and said they didn't carry them and never had. I...

    Rear lower than front

Mando is exactly right on the shocks. I replaced my stock shocks with RS 9000s a few months ago and it didn't help the sagging one bit. I will say it helped the ride of my truck a lot. No matter what you do for the sagging rear end get some quality shocks too. You won't be sorry...

    Rear lower than front

The rear springs on my Explorer are starting to sag down. I am planning on picking up a pair of Warrior shackles to bring it up to the right height. I've measured from the ground to the top of the wheel well and the back is 1 inch lower than the front. Does this sound like the right action to...

    kkm or drill?

Just remove the air box from the vehicle cut holes into the lower part of the box and then reinstall the box and air filter. How much you cut away is up to you. I suggest cutting a few 2 inch holes at firstand then try it out. See if you like the gains if not cut some more away until you do...

    Clunking under the floor board

I just replaced my radius arm bushings to solve a clunking sound under the floor board of my Explorer. The sound isn't as bad now but when I'm driving on a rough road its still there. Anyone got any other ideas. The shocks were just replaced with Rancho RS 9000s. Thanks

    GOOD SHOCKS

I just put Rancho RS 9000s on my Explorer 2 weeks ago. I've driven quite a bit and love them. They are easy to adjust and if you add the in cab controller they are even easier. But this is just me and what I like you may not. I'd say search on this page and then make up your own mind. Hope this...

Just got my new shocks on

No you don't need to get the in cab controller. If you don't get it there are knobs on the shock for adjustment. Just reach inside the wheel well and turn it to what you want. Its that easy. The in cab controller is nice but if you aren't changing the settings that much you really don't need it...

Just got my new shocks on

I'm bought 4 from National Tire & Wheel for $61.00 each. Mine were for an Explorer without a lift but I'm pretty sure they are all $61.00. I looked around for awile and thats the cheapest I could find them. I didn't get the in cab controller because it was around $120 more for it. I think I will...

Whats the deal with radius arm bushings

Ok, I've search and found all kinds of information on this topic. I'm getting ready to replace the shocks on my 92 XLT with 120,000 miles and figure its also a good time to take care of the bushings. It seems like every post I read has a different answer. I've seen thats its easy to do. I've...

    92 XLT using oil

My 1992 XLT is going through about a quart of oil every 2,000 miles. This might not be that bad but seems like a lot to me. I've crawled all over and under the engine and can't find a leak anywhere and its not smoking at all. A friend of mine looked at a 92 and was told they all use a lot of...
