Well found the problem! The dumb*ss at the shop put the pump in turned 180*. The pin didnt line up w/ the sock. The sock just floated around the inlet on the pump and was getting under the sending unit arm. It was holding it up when it was empty. Guess I should have thanked those guys for...

Well thanks guys flipped the switch several times and "poof" it started working.

Im sorry I changed the description. I know its a bad switch, anyway to bypass w/ a jumper or fix by taking apart? I pulled it out and wire is attached.

Just wondering if anyone knows why the windows roll down from drivers door on my 98 Explorer, but they dont work from any other door. I assume its the switch, is their a fix or a way to bypass it, or do I have to replace the whole switch panel? Or is their another problem all together?

Although, now that I think about it is it going to help to bend the arm. Has to be a problem w/ the resistor in the back of the guage. Both sending units read the same. If I bend it up it will read empty when it should but will it still read all the way to full?

Yeah I figured thats what I would have to do was bend the arm up so it would read empty before it was. However shouldnt the anti slosh module keep it from reading differrent when on a hill? I read full then park on a hill and immediately read 3/4 which being I drove 20 miles I should be around...

Anybody know why the guage is reading wrong? I filled it today and it held 17.5 gallons and it did it w/ both sending units.

So what the problem? The design of the pump in the tank? This thing was made right at the Millenium, Ford cant figure out how to make a gas tank read? They have had plenty of years to figure it out.

Good point on the gallons Ill fill it tomorrow, but it has a new sending unit and still doing the same thing. I cant believe no one else has this problem if it was the gauge or anything for that matter.

Today it registered 1/4 tank, then when I parked it on the hill at home it died like it ran out of gas. Now it wont start till I add gas.

I bought a 98 awhile back and it needed a fuel pump. When I got it back it ran out of gas @ 1/8 tank. I took it back to the shop and had them replace the sending unit, to be fair I bought a new one and gave it to them. Drove it today and once again 1/8 tank ran out of gas. Is it something else...

Yeah, It doesnt lock, but it will open from inside and out. I dont know the code for the keypad, so cant tell ya if that works. ANy one know how to change the code?

The seat in my 98 Explorer is fully functional, except for the forward and backward motion. It will go all the way back but only half way forward. I do not see anything in the track, do I need to replace the motor? If so, HOW?

The inner drivers handle broke on my 98 Explorer. But there seems to be an issue w/ the manual lock lever. It doesnt seem to want to move. Anyone else have this problem? How do I fix?

I have noticed a shake in steering wheel (pass front tire) when I turn left, especially when I hit a bump in the road while turning left. Ive replaced all the ball joints. So Im assuming that it is a tie rod end? But w/ it being AWD i figured it would be better to ask first.
