Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

    AAL Vibes!

That makes even more sense. Thanks again Patrick!

    AAL Vibes!

That's actually a really good point. I hadn't thought of it that way. Thanks for the perspective!

    AAL Vibes!

Thanks Dan I didn't realize the U joints can be permanently thrown out of whack. I figured they worked properly at any angle until they reached an angle that was just too sharp for them to accomodate. I wonder if there's an aftermarket greasable u joint with a wider spectrum of movement...

    AAL Vibes!

I just did AAL & Rearc to level out the back (it was about an inch and a half saggy) and now I'm getting brutal vibrations from about 20km/h up. Mechanic says it must be because we changed the driveshaft angle. That doesn't make sense to me, because we only leveled it; we didn't stand it 6...

2003 ford explorer sport xlt 4.0L.......what next?

All true, but the smaller the wheel, the less distance it travels. Let's say that 1 gallon of gas will provide 32,000 revolutions of your 30" diameter wheel & tire at a circumference of roughly 94.20 inches and a weight of 50 lbs. If you can get something with a greater circumference but...

    2in body lift? re-gear?

The only things that would change that measurement are suspension adjustments and weight. Even a full tank of gas would slightly change that measurement. Make sure its COMPLETELY level ground. Can't do it on a slope.

2003 ford explorer sport xlt 4.0L.......what next?

That's actually a good question. some people think that bigger wheels and tires allow you to move farther for the same amount of energy (fuel). Other people think that by putting on a larger, heavier wheel, it causes the engine, drivetrain and differential to do more work than they were...

2003 ford explorer sport xlt 4.0L.......what next?

Basics You're actually asking two very different questions here: 1) What can I do to increase my truck's performance 2) What can I do to increase the life of my truck Usually, these work in opposing directions. For better economy and performance, you'll want to let the truck 'breath'...

    6" Closer to GOD

Well, at least you got it fixed. I only know how much they are because I just bought one because I thought mine was dried out and squealing, but after a closer look, the squealing isn't coming from that...nobody can find it. This gives me an idea for an interesting new thread...

    6" Closer to GOD

Ouch! What were you doing to snap your U joint?? That must have sounded expensive. Mind you, U joints are only 30 or 40 bucks...not sure about a drive shaft though.

    6" Closer to GOD

That makes sense It looks like an easy enough piece to fab up once I know my exact measurements. What kind of paint did you use on the tupperware? Seems like it would flake easily...

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

So strange. I wonder why there's a $100 price difference between the lift kits. Oh well, my GF order the ranger one for me this morning. No biggie.

    6" Closer to GOD

Excellent job, And good for you for getting it all done in three days! I read that you chose the PA 70023 (sport trac) lift kit...did you run into the rear bumper bracket issue? (I noticed the 2x4...) I've got a 2002 Sport, would you advise having the bracket fabbed up first?
  16. T

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

haha, no, he doesn't. But he DOES say he's using the PA 70023 (sport trac kit) and there IS a pic of a 2x4 being used as a rear bumper...that sort of speaks for it's self!

    Explorer Sport Suspension Lifts

Sounds good DirtDemon, PA 883 or PA 70023?
  18. T

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

I digress... So, If I use PA 883, I've got a little bit of fab work to do If I use PA 70023, it's about a hundred dollars more expensive, but all I have is a couple extra pieces, and no fab work to do? Does that sound about right?

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

Bless MS Paint Patrick, that's the coolest diagram I've ever seen hahahahaha. Isn't 1/8" a little weak for that set up? Or do you not actually intend to push on anything with it?
  20. T

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

Patrick Did you have to fab up extension brackets for your brush guard after raising the truck? Those Hunter *******s WILL NOT under ANY circumstances ship to Canada.

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

(I felt like picking a little fight) Me: ...I'm not sure if it was Wes or Greg, but someone there told me that "there aren't lift kits for 2002 explorers because their unibody", and I should "go look under my truck", because "they've been doing this for years" Greg@4x4parts.com: Actually...

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

    Is that PA 70023 ?

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

You're saying the Sport Trac kit fits better than PA 883, and just has two blocks left over?

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

Flat as a pancake too :) (sorry for the massive pic)

Why does God hate 2002 Sports?

    Mine's multi-leaf, not mono-leaf.
