    Rear pinion seal leak and bearing question

    I was getting ready to R&R my pinion seal tonight and when I got most of it torn apart (fluid drained, drive shaft disconnected), I noticed there was around an 1/8 inch of play in the pinion gear (moves up and down). Is this a problem? If so, do I need to replace my pinion bearings? '01...
