    Refrigerant Leak?

I noticed over the years that this part of the AC hose is covered in what looks like oil. It’s gotten worse and the AC feels warmer. Has anyone had a leak in that area before? I’m wondering how common it is. I see the replacement on rock auto for $50 but I’d like to get an opinion before I order it.

Does this mean my A/C compressor is on its way out?

I know I have a very small leak in the a/c system but to keep it going a bit longer before I make repairs I've been recharging the system by adding as needed. 1996 Explorer XLT 4.0L OHV One of my AC hoses is cracked and the refrigerant has leaked out. The compressor is new about a year ago. I've order the replacement Discharge and Suction Line set. I'll probably replace the lines this weekend. I've searched the forum for guidance; my question...

    I'm low on refrigerant.... right?

A/C doesn't blow cold at all. I bought the A/C manifold gages from Harbor Frieght and tested the system. The outside temperature was about 90 degrees. The low side gauge read 20 to 55 psi as the compressor cycled on and off. A complete compressor cycle was about 10 seconds. The high side...
