    I have a xlt 2000 explorer and Did some work on the truck after it died suddenly after exiting the freeway. I never thought to look at the theft light. Put it all back together and the theft light keeps blinking it’s an original key and it started up for about 2 minutes. Then it didn’t what can...

    Hi, Dave here. My daughter has a 2001 SportTrac with the dreaded blinking "Theft" light. And only one chip key. We live on a small island with no dealership, so towing fees, ferry wait times and other costs to get it to a dealership will run over one thousand dollars...., not a viable...
