    Timing chain problems

    Just boughtmy first Ford explorer 1997 and I'm already off to a rocky start. Turns out my ford explorer has a bad timing chain and would like to know if what would be better to fix it or get a new engine?? And if a new engine is the way to go then what type would be compatible with my 1997...
