'01 sport factory amp

does anyone know if there is a factory external amp in the '01 sports? and if there is one where is it... thanks.

Which factory radio do you have just the standard cd player? I think the only factory radio with a built in amp is the Mach.

I have the single CD/cassette radio. I don't think its the fancy-pants one...

I could be wrong, but if there's a sub, you have factory amps. If there's no sub, the speakers are running off the deck.

On the four doors from '97 and up the amp was built into the deck. I would think it would be the same for the Sports. If it had a sub the sub might have it's own external amp.

wrong. took the factory amp out of my 4 door '97. located just above the passenger rear wheel well

Mine had two amps. One for speakers, one for the sub. They were mounted on the sub box.

Nope not wrong. Some '97s had an external amp and some had an amp built into the head unit. But after '97 they were all built into the head unit.

all explorers i've ever seen come into the bay from '91-'97 had an external amp. but nonetheless, he was still wrong.

i had thought 2001 was the last of the external amps unless you had a mach system (02-newer)
