My 02 Mounty has developed a problem. I first thought it felt like when driving around 35-40 mph that is was jerky. Then today when I was going up a kinda uphill place i romped down on it and it hesitated pretty bad. It will change down gears fine and then it is like it makes it to about 4000rpms and starts to stall out. Not like it is dying but just like it don't have any more getty up. It has never felt like this. My Dad told me that he heard the place i always get gas got some water in their tanks. Do you think that could be my problem? Seems like it didn't start until I got back from GA and got a tank of gas there. But not really sure. I also thought it may be the tranny slipping but it shifts solid as ever and don't act like it is trying to over rev or anything so not sure. I put a can of ST gas stuff in the tank of gas today. BTW I got gas there again right after this started but before Dad told me about the water. Great job huh? But he said they have replace their fuel tank so maybe I will be ok. Any help would be great guys. And BTW I did try to search but the search just leads me to a blank page. So I decided to ask anyway. Oh ya the Mounty has 99000 on it if that would help.
