Can someone direct me?
I purchased a 02 EB about 6 months ago.. The dealer said "as is". However about a week ago, i noticed trans slippage between 2nd and 3rd. I dropped it off at the trans guy that I know, he said it would be about 3000. to repair, but said that this is known problem with this year/make, and take it to the dealership. Since he said that it was a "known" problem.. I searched the internet and found tons of TSB's in regards to this very same problem for the very same vehicle..

Do I need to tell you that the dealership was less then helpful? The salesman is "no longer employed" . Sure. The "manager" said that even though there are service bulletins, there is nothing they can do since I didn't purchase an extended warranty.. This wasn't even offered. I don't know what I can or can't do. There is no excessive mileage or abuse on this vehicle to cause the need for a new trans after only 6 months.

What can I do?

How many miles is on it?

WHoops. Im sorry, I forgot to put that in there, huh.

The solenoid blocks on these 5R55W tend to act up at 60k-up miles. Do you know if the fluid, and filter were ever replaced? Start with that first. Use Mercon V or full synthetic only. Any other fluid would lack the necessary friction modifiers unless you add a bottle of Lubegard. Always use the recommended fluid so you wouldn't need any additives.

Yes, that was already done. the fluid and filters are fine. It was the very first thing I thought of. Thank you.

After extensive research on the vehicle, I found a ton of TSB's addressing this very issue. I suggested the solenoid too, which is alot cheaper then the 3000$. Filed a complaint with Ford, since the trans in this year/make are specific with this problem.

I suggest you replace the solenoid block and valve body gasket.

Do you know if the gasket comes with the Solenoid from Ford?
The reason I ask is that mine was recently replaced at an independent but not sure if they used a new gasket.
Still have the same shift problem from 2-3 and is setting the same P0745 hard code.
