hi all,
just finished front end repairs; upper & lower ball joints, outer tie rods, rotors & brakes.
abs light never any issues prior to dismantling. i removed them very carefully and made sure to carefully reinstall them.
once everything was buttoned up, guess what....
yup, light ON.
local mech. friend said he got two codes, one for a wire, the second, he was not sure about.
what could i have done wrong?, is there a special re-installation process that is a secret?
are there any tests for the sensors and wires so i can replace only what i need?
any ideas where to get the replacements?
thanks in advance

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, then try again.

I just changed out a front hub/bearing assembly in my 03 4x4 which has the ABS sensor and wire attached to it, had to unplug the old one and plug the new one in....had the ABS light come on instantly when I pulled it out of the garage. Drove it for 30 seconds and the light went off....hasn't popped on since.

When i did mine the master cyl switch went. I pulled the codes to tell me what sensor it was as each one has its own code. Did you get the codes? C1440 is the Master Cyl Switch, which is the most common failure any dealer probably has a few in stock. . .only $20. When this goes my Cruise wouldn't come on, ABS light would turn on after starting to like 30min later . .

Another time i was changing the pad and the caliper fell of its perch and was caught by the ABS wire, pulled codes again and determine it was the RF sensor, those wires seem sensitive. ABS light would come on right after startup.

Also I would just visually double-check those ABS wires coming out from the sensors on the hubs, all the way to the socket connects for each wheel....they are a very small diameter wire, and could have easily gotten snagged or nicked during the process of replacing all of the parts you had done.

thanks, when i get a chance i will check the wire
