Hello all. I am new to the forum and want to thank you because i have read posts on repairs and they have helped. These are my questions:

-First, I have 100,000 miles on my '02 XLT and changed filters, fluid and spark plugs. Now I was wondering if I need to change the fluid in the front differential?
last time I was at Jiffy Lube they tested both and said they were fine. They added a bit more as well. The back is sealed up REAL good, but the front is easy to get to. I believe the front is "non-synthetic"? that is why. Also, when I make a slow hard left turn there seems to be a "slip" or weird feeling from the front differential. However, I can drive at any speed with no such problems...yet.

-Next, is the serpentine belt really that easy to change? I can get it "sloppy" with a 3/8" head....I just want to make sure there in no hidden thing I am missing.

Thanks for your help.

Belt is easy. 3/8 breaker bar is great to use. Just insert into the idler pulley assembly and move it to loosen the tension, slip old off and new on. I do from underneath in 5 mins or less. Good luck..

As above, the belt is super easy.

If there are any doubts about the differential(s), change the fluid, it's cheap insurance. If you know for a fact that it was changed at 100K miles, then don't.
