02 explorer idle prob

when we start the truck, and let it warm up in the morning to leave for work, we get into the truck, and put in reverse. As it starts to backup, RMPS go way down, then shoot way up, making the truck take off like a rocket. I had this problem about 2 years ago, and changed a fuel filter, and seems to fix the problem. Any other ideas what it can be. Another dirty fuel filter? or something else.

I'd start with what worked before. Even if it's not the fix, a new fuel filter never hurts.
