My little brother recently went into a ditch and hit a sidewalk. As a result there is a problem with the steering. The problem is when you turn it it feels as if the steering wheel is rubbing against something every quarter turn. I took a few pics of the damage. I was just wondering if this is something fixable and if so how much is he going to have to spend on it.

bummer, that isn't going to buff out. Maybe take it in for an alignment . . who knows. Best bet is take it to a body shop and put it on a frame machine and see whats off and how much and your options. I can't check, but if i remember its welded on to the frame. . .or bolted on? Looks like it hit the lower a-arm too and with the amount of damage, that whole thing front cross member could be shifted back and/or compromised. I'm not sure what can be done with it. . .and i hate to use the 'T' word, but it doesn't look good.
How fast was he going?
