Hello, my name is Chris and this is my first post on this forum. Thank you in advance for all of you who take time out of your night to help me.

I just replaced my front differential in my wife's mountaineer, all I had left to do is reattach the front driveshaft to the differential yoke. For some reason the U joint strap bolts won't fit back in the yoke.

To make things worse I broke a bolt off in the yoke trying to make it go in. I was almost done, and now I don't know what to do. I'm going to attach a video to better illustrate what I mean. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: won't let me attach the video, says security error.

You will need to remove the broken bolt with a drill and an extractor.
You will also need to determine if the replacement differential has different thread pitch on the yoke. The threads may just need to be chased. You have to match the bolts to the yoke.

It's not going to be easy, but it is rudimentary mechanic work.

Thank you for your response. I was unable to get an extractor to bite, after a couple hours of trying I ended up drilling a hole straight through the center of the broken bolt. All that remains now is the outer edge, which is still locked into the yoke. Any advice on removing the remaining portion?
