So I'm currently detailing my truck.

I was planning on buffing, and figured I'd remove the badges.

I'm mostly concerned if there are holes under them. I wouldn't bother removing them then.

The letters on the doors are stick-ons. I think the Sport Trac emblem on the tailgate is as well. Not sure about the Ford emblem. Unless you plan to leave them off, I wouldn't take them off.

Ditto 429. With the exception of the Ford grille oval fastened with two speed nuts, all badges and the rear oval are bonded with acrylic foam tape. Should you decide to remove any of them and reapply, 3M molding tape with the red backing is thin but extremely strong. I used clear RTV silicone adhesive on the tailgate oval and will hopefully never have to remove it. As most know, cured RTV sealant is a real PITA to remove from almost any surface, and should almost be considered permanent. Also, instead of floss, 20 lb. or heavier monofilament fishing line works well for removal using heavy gloves to prevent hand cuts. Here's a tutorial for removal only.

Yes I was planning on leaving the Ford ones and just taking off the Explorer on the doors and Explorer and Sport Tract on the tailgate.

Thanks

I've seen them removed on a TV show using strong fishing line.

Fishing line, heat gun, acetone, and a rag will do the job.

I shaved the "Explorer" and "Sport Trac" emblems from the doors and tailgate, no holes in the sheet metal.
