Rebuilding an abused 2002, manual 4wd V6, so I give it more sentimental value than bluebook. I replaced the entire wire harness in the dash which had been hacked and spliced ad nauseam, replaced the PCM which cleared a few other engine faults, and swapped a few GEMs salvaged from the junk yard, but one issue remains no matter what I do. When I press the clutch pedal, half the indicators on the instrument panel go dark. I'm at a complete loss to figure out how the clutch position switch connects to the indicator lights. I don't see anything that could cause a physical short. Has anyone seen this before?

Success in a round about way. The last DTC i had left was the autolamp relay, so I was testing that and found I had V always on shorting to the Vacc input at the GEM. Long story short, I unplugged the 4WD module and now my clutch pedal doesn't turn off my instrument panel. Yay! Freggin computer modules.

Good for you! All's well that ends well.
