Ok so I had the typical code (dont remeber the num) for solnoid b. So I replpaced the block and both servo pistions, then tightend the bands to 120 in lbs and backed off two turns, as per what I found on here ( alot of great info) then put 6 quarts of fluid back in it.wheno went for a test drive it shifted fime until it went to shift in o/d, then it just reved, had yo put ot in net to get it back in gear. Now if I run it from 1to 3 rd from the gear shift it shifts fine.so my question is do I just not have enoug fluid or somethimg else

Huh?

If u r saying huh about whats higlighted I meant when it goes to shift in o/d it jumps out of gear, and I have to put it in netural then back in drive for it to move again. Sorry for the crappy spelling I am on my phone lol

Aha, yeah figured you were on a phone etc. Hope someone chimes in to help you out, I don't know squat about those newer transmissions. Which tranny do you have? 5R55 S/W?

Still no clue on this problem, tried to readjust the bands hoping I didnt do it right , but still the same. I am now suspecting the valve body, because the fluid was nasty, and had 160k on it and prod never been changed. So gonna clean and install a shift kit and see what happens, any input will help, I am new to working on trannys. Is there a write up on the 5r55w valve body?

These guys are very good if you don't want to do it yourself. They use every Sonnex upgrade, new solenoids and stand behind their work. I rebuilt my own but I put a fair bit of effort into it to make sure I didn't miss any problem areas or possible upgrades. I installed parts of two shift kits in my A4LD VB as per Glacier's guide.

I would be rebuilding my VB as well in your situation. Did you look at the pdf.?

Have yet to look at the pdf, it wouldnt open on my phone, and I have dial up at home. I am gonna download ot tomorrow somwhere else, and hope the vb does the trick

well just looked at that pdf and found that there is 2 diffrent solenoid blocks, one for the 5r55n and one for the w and s, and has a sensor. well 800700 trans sent me the one for the s which has the sensor, so hope its what is wrong.

The solenoid pack with the pigtail sensor is for the 5r55n. The 5r55s/w transmissions don't have this sensor. I think the 5r55n's only had this sensor until from 98 to 2000 or something like that. But I was sent the wrong solenoid pack as well[from another company] and installed it along with a new valve body. That solenoid only hit 3 gears and after that the revs kept climbing until it reach 5k elms and then the od light started blinking and the data screen said check transmission. They sent me the correct solenoid pack after contacting them. This was 1 year ago. This past Friday I finally decided to install the replacement solenoid pack.

yeah that is excatly what mine is doing, so i am gonna contact them to get a replacement and try that .

Yours had the sensor pigtail on it like mine did? {I unplugged the sensor and tried the pack anyway}

yeah mine had the sensor and pigtail, i also just unpluged it, and tried it, and it made my trans alot worse.
