My 02 XLT 53K miles has a 'click' sound in the right rear at about 10mph mostly when slowing down (but not always). The click started about 8,000 miles ago and it was a soft click.....click at every rotation of the wheel. Now, it's louder and faster. Brake pads were replaced 10K miles ago, brakes do squeak a litttle. My mechanic had it in the air and couldn't figure out what it was, any input? Thank you in advance.

You check the Parking brake? The shoes suck on Explorers.
Do a search and you'll find a few threads on it.

Mine's been clicking for a few weeks now. Drives me nuts. I'll be tearing into it this weekend.

I second that. Just replaced my parking brakes and the hardware. My left wheel click/rub/intermittent with speed sound is gone and parking brakes work great. The parking brake pads were seperated from the baking and just floating around the inside of the parking brake drum.
