Hello everyone
I am having issues with my explorer shuddering into overdrive
It shudders into overdrive only and only does it after driving for at least 20 minutes(full oper temp), It doesn't make any noise and from what I can tell doesn't have any issues going into overdrive.
I called a guy that my family knows at a local transmission place and told him the issue, he said that he would have to experience the problem himself but it only does it when its warm, I don't think he'll want to drive it around for a half hour just to replicate the problem, and I am kind of against that myself.
Anyway, he recommended a flush, fill and filter. And from what I've been told by most is to never do a flush so that has been riding in the back of my head for a week now and unsure if that is a good idea.
I do not know the history on the transmission, the truck itself has 175k and I put 15k into that. Last summer I also had disconnected the 4x4 cm module out to disengage the poorly engineered full time(auto) 4x4, so iv'e been rwd for about 7 months now.
Thats pretty much all the info I have and it seems to be running well otherwise other than an alignment it needs, and this is worrying me because I don't have the means to dump $1500 into this truck
Any opinions/personal experience would be very much appreciated in my time of need.
Thanks!
