03 EB Expedition
I have a new 03 EB Expedition. When I am driving down on the freeway when I hit about 75 – 80 mph the steering wheel starts to shutter. Kind of like when the tires are out of balance. I have heard on other (smaller) forms that this is a known and common problem but cannot get verification from any one on those threads. So I have decided to go to the best FORD Form in the web. Does anyone know if there is a service notification on such an issue? I have had the tires rebalance and it still happens. It is not a 4x4 so that is not an issue. It is only a highway queen.

Try getting it aligned, I did it to mine and it rides just as smooth as it does at 45

Find one with a Hunter 9700 GSB tire ballencer and have them check for excessive road foarce variation.

If your steering wheel is shaking is most likely in your front tires as long as you do not feel it through the brake pedal which would indicate a bad rotor.

Anything over 20lbs of RFV should be rejected in my opinion. The tires with less RFV should be mounted in the front if they are new.

If the RFV doesn't work. Go to a lincoln mercury dealorship and ask them to use an Electronic Vibration Analyzer to pinpoint your vibration.

I had a similar problem with my explorer. I ignored it, but when I got new tires the problem stopped. The shaking was from the cheap kirkland signature tires.

If you had just replace the tire recently, that may be the source
