Well, I had to replace the power steering rack which was a whole new experience in itself because I couldn't find anything that specifically told how to remove it so it was a lot of trial and error. Finally got it removed and replaced and everything put back together and now this is the problem. It starts fine and everything is fine when you aren't touching the wheel but as soon as you try to turn it even the slightest bit either way it starts to shake back and forth very hard. The power steering fluid was still at the right level after I replaced it and the only thing I can think of is that there is air in the system but I wouldn't think it would shake as hard as it is.
The Explorer is a '96 AWD with the 5.0 in it. Any advice you could give would be much appreciated. I've had it up on the lift for the better part of the week so far.
