finally finneshed replacing the jackshaft tensioner and guide , the tensioner was toast .. after 185k. the new one ( updated ) was the same as the old one , luckly the peices where in the pan i was able to pick them out. engine runs like butta now no noise!!!! job was a PITA but doable and easy just time consuming getting to the timing cover , i didnt remove the radiator , was able to pull crank pulley , i replaced the driverside tensioner as well ,, and using 5w30. and saved 1400.00, i happy the job is done.
when i was getting the timing cover gasket from autoZone, the knucklhead started to argue with me saying i had to remove the motor to do that job i said NO just doing the front tensioner and giude , hestill insisted the motor must be removed , i almost said get a life paid and walked out, motor head wanna be.
