Looking for help and answers to why the 4.0 V6 sohc is idling up to 3000 and then it shoots down to 500 and has sometimes stalled out? Also, when I'm stopped at a red light the truck will rev so high it wants to take off all by it's self with my foot on the brake? And, it will sometimes "jerk" while driving at highway speeds? I'm just looking for answers or possibilities, thanks.

Sounds like it could be a vacuum leak.

Jerking at highway would not be caused by either a air leak or IAC. Sounds more like a fuel issue for that problem or a highway issue. The revving to 3000 at a stop sounds more like the IAC or vaccum leak. The engine would compensate for the extra air in the engine by adding more fuel. Im going to go with you have a couple of problems happening at the same time.

Start with a new fuel filter, clean the IAC and MAF sensors plus change the spark plugs if you already haven't recently.
