I have a 2003 2-door Sport V6. It will just shut off while driving a long distance ex. 30-40 miles. I can wait a few minutes and it will crank back up. Then, it will only go about 5-6 miles. The radio and air cond will still work. It's just the motor cutting off. I have replaced the fuel pump & filter. That did not fix it so we replaced a computer relay, and it cut off again after going about 40 miles.

Well it takes 3 things to make it run. Air, fuel, spark. Before i finished reading I thought fuel filter, but I see you changed that. How is the fuel pressure?

I do not know the fuel pressure. The mechanic mentioned something about the fuel pump reading going from 60 to 10. I am very ignorant about cars

I had my coil go in that fashion, don't know if that helps..........

sports trac does not start after short trips.

My 2003 sports trac does not start sometimes after short trips. now when it does start it make a loud noise when when it starts and then the noise stops. I changed the fuel filter and the fuel injectors but it stilll does not start.

my vote is on the fuel or spark end

either bad coil pack, restricted fuel filter, bad fuel pump

My 2003 sports trac mas sensor needs to be replaced.

Where is it located and hao much might it cost to get it fixed. Has any one heard about a recall of the intake manifold gasket. The mechanic i took it tooo said there was a recall that runs out at 72,00 miles?

i am a guess-anic...not a real mechanic...

but its the thingy from where the spark plug wires go out of
