'03 Ranger Differential Repair

I am working on my '03 ranger's rear differntial. I thought the only problem was the pinion oil seal, but when I removed that, I found the the front pinion bearing is dorked up. Can I remove that while the diff is still in the truck, or is this beyond a self help project? Special tools needed?

If anyone has specific instructions or suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials section. You could remove the bearing while the differential is still in the vehicle.

Thanks. Is there anywhere on the web where I can get instructions on how to do that? Will I need special tools?
