Just wanted to make sure before I ordered the the new sensor. Truck is tossing the fuel temp sensor code, my research shows the pressure and temp sensor is one unit? It's also under the intake, right? Anyone got a hand write up on pulling the intake? I know it's an easy job but I always like to have a reference with me when i do things like this.

I don't know about '04, but I don't consider pulling the intake on an '02 XLS an easy job. You have to have just the right configuration of 1/4" drive, extension (pref. wobble), torx bit--and for that bolt near the firewall, you are working under the cowl blind. Helps to pull off the hood, too. If the intake has been on there for 13 years and 125k+ miles (i.e., rusted heads of bolts)--could be a PITA. Use lots or PB blaster, compressed air and pick to clean out the head of the torx socket on the bolt and take care not to strip/break one. Much easier to re-pull an intake that been pulled off recently.

if you break one of the front ones, not too hard to drill heads out, pull the intake, and use a vicegrips to get the rest of the bolt out. Not likely possible to do this for the buried bolts, however.
