You've replaced the injector, and you've got the same result. The shade-tree-mechanic-guy in me says to pull the fuel pump relay, so the cylinder wont fill with fuel. Then hook up a cheap 12v tester to the injector plug. (unplug the #6 injector plug, then stick a cheap/lighted12v tester into the plug. Plug the pointed end of the tester in to one side of the plug. Take a small nail, or a wire, and stick in the other plug in the connector, and then clip the other end of the tester to the nail). You've just created a very cheap noid tester. If you have a constant light, then you'll have to figure out what signals the injector to squirt, and replace that part. I'm not sure where the "squirt" signal originates, but someone smarter than me will hopefully chime in and tell us. I'd guess it comes from the crank position sensor, but here again, we'll expect some smarter people can guide you further.

Is the fuel accumulating in the cylinder 6 intake port? As I recall a 2004 has the fuel pressure/temperature sensor mounted on the fuel rail at the rear of the driver side.

I suggest disconnecting the vacuum hose that connects to the fuel pressure/temperature sensor to see if it is full of fuel. If so, replace the sensor. The sensor may have failed allowing fuel to flow within it from the fuel rail to the intake manifold.

Bingo!!!! After taking a deep breath with back outside and was going to try and unplug number 6, couldn't get to, decided to pull intake to look at wire. pulled vacuum line from intake and fuel rad out, never notice this before, removed intake and vacuum tested fuel regulator it was ok, then behold test temp/pressure sensor and it would not hold vacuum. replaced and started fine....

What part did you replace?
