04 Aviator with 20 X 9's.....

Howdy. Just found this site and have been looking at a bunch of great rides. I'm interested in stuffing a 20 X 9 with +24 offset on all four corners and not quite sure if it'll fit or not. Figured before I go pulling wheels and taking measurements that someone may be running this combo (or may have found out that it'll interfere with the suspension.) Thanks.

I have 20x8.5's, not sure on the backspacing. I have a few people that PM'd me specs on my wheels recently, but I've been to busy to check them and it just started to rain. I'll get it figured out soon and report back

Awesome. Yeah if you can provide either the offset or the backspace, that'll be all the info I need.

I just measured the stock wheels and checked some clearances. Looks like it can handle a little more than 6 inches of backspace before hitting the spindle. I like the stance of your ride so I'll be interested in knowing how yours measures.

Okay, got them measured at 20x8.5 with 5 1/4 backspacing If you want side pics from front and rear, I can get some taken and posted up. Hope this helps!

Those pictures would be very helpful. I'm a little shocked that you have just 5.25 inches of backspace, because that would give you 4.25 inches of front space. This 20 X 9 inch wheel in question is sitting at 6 inches of backspace and 4 of fronspace, so it should tuck in a little better despite being 1/2 inch wider.

Did you measure this yourself or read the specs from a sheet?

I measured them myself. Broke a piece of wood I have down to sit on the rim to get an accurate measurment.

Did you account for the lip of the wheel? The true centerline of a 8.5 inch rim is not 4.25 inches, but 4.75 because rim width never accounts for the 1/2 inch rear lip and 1/2 inch front lip, but backspace and frontspace measurements do.

Thanks again, because the pictures of your truck with the measurements will give me a rock solid picture of what these wheels I want should fit like.

Here you go! Tires are 275/45/20 Hankook Ventus ST RH06, just got them last friday

I didn't account for anything, just measured from the hub part to the outside lip.

Ok, then you measured for the lip.

The wheel spec shows 20 X 8.5 with +14mm offset and 5-1/4 b.s. They got that b.s. measurement by taking 8.5 width + 1 inch (for front/rear lip) / 2 = 4.75 inch centerline. 1 inch is roughly 25 mm, so 14 mm = .56 additional backspace. 4.75 + .56 = 5.31, or pretty much 5-1/4. That also leaves a front space of 4.19 inches (9.5 - 5.31).

The wheels I was interested in are 20 X 9 with +24mm offset, which comes out to 5.96 backspace and 4.04 front space. So it should tuck just ever so slightly more than your wheels. Since the factory 17 X 7.5's I measured have a 6 inch backspace, I should still be ok.

I'm only posting all of this for the future in case anyone else wonders. Thanks big time...you've been a huge help! And thanks for the pics, that is still a great looking wheel.

Finally got the wheels and tires on. They are Shelby Razor 20 X 9's with 6 inches in backspacing and Falken 275 45's.
