Help! We were up in the mountains a few days ago and when we got in Explorer to come home, all 4 power windows no longer worked. Checked fuse #6 (In the main fuse box under the hood) which was fine and I bought a Chilton manual to try and find another route. The section says to have a pro do it but I can't afford that. I need to know the following:

On the '04 4.0L V6 2WD Explorer where is The Central Junction Box (Is that the Main Fuse Box?) and if I find no burnt fuses, what else can I do?

Any Takers?

Thank you for the help, you might be saving me $300+ in repairs!!!!
:salute:

know how that goes... my x windows didnt work and it turned out to be the fuse. ive hera the fuse box called the central junction box. even tho my x is 10 yrs older than yours i think they alway put them right under the driverside dash or it might be in the drivers side kick pannel. and if its not a bad fuse take a volt-o-meter and check to see if power is running to the fuse holed for windows and then check all the way up to the switchs and motors them selves. dont know if this helps at all but i figureed id give it a shot. good luck

had/have the same problem...mine was a broken ground wire in the drivers door jam...
