04 trans wont move

Hi guys, new to the forum and need help with 04 . I just replaced the blown engine and sounds good but the trans won't move now. I indexed the converter and it has forward/back movement dropped pan and filter is intact o rings look good. Removed engine again today and the converter is completely dry. Is it possible for the trans to cavitate?the tranny was working before I replaced engine. I'm stumped. Any ideas. Txs for any thoughts

Welcome to this forum! Check the fluid level in the cold transmission with the engine running, then fill to the correct level while the engine is still running.
