Recently my 04 xlt v6 has been running kind of poorly. While in park and sitting at stop lights it has a rough idle. I do not think it needs the computer update either because on the records from Ford the previous owner had a computer update done back in 2010, so I would think they would've updated it with the latest. There is no service engine soon light, and when I floor the throttle there is a long wait until it decides to downshift and take off. I know it's drive by wire and somewhat normal, but recently drove an 05 v6 with 150k miles and the throttle response was instant. Mine only has 93k, and I replaced plugs and wires at 87k, and have a new k & n drop-in air filter. I really have no idea which direction to go in, someone told me it could be o2 sensors on their way out or somebody said it could just need a fuel injection cleaning. I consistently get about 11.5 mpg. If anyone could assist me in getting my expy running normal again I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
