Looks I have reached old fart age according to my kids, and because the rotted out stock muffler is getting too loud for me to hear my AM talk radio
)...
Anyway, I have looked at all the threads regarding muffler replacement, and it seems like the only do-it-yourself muffler replacement issue is due to a welded on 'tail pipe', the last one behind the muffler.
Am I correct that I can (with no lift other than jack stands on concrete) sawzall off the tail pipe close to the muffler, buy the short pipe upstream of the muffler with the gasket flange, gasket and springs/bolts, and finally reconnect the original tail pipe to the rear of the new muffler with a 2.25" clamp ?
BTW, I am thinking about the Walker SS 21422 muffler. The days of digging 200 watts to hear Led Zeppelin over the glasspacks is over. I blame it on being over 60 with too much Army infantry way back when and probably too much rock and roll....
Thanks for any help offered.
