04 xlt noise when ac/defrost kicks in need help asap

I just purchased a new 04 explorer xlt v8 just 1 month old 1046 miles on it and well just had it taken to the dealership for the following reason when ever i turn on the ac or turn the knob to defrost it makes a quick noise like something is slipping the technician at the dealer tells me this is normal when the compressor kicks in i am having a hard time believing this for the following reasons why would a new vehicle make a noise every 12 seconds when the ac or defrost is on and how come its so loud i can hear it inside the cabin of the car?? please i am asking if anyone has made a recent purchase of this vehicle or if there are any ford techs on the forums to tell me if this dealership is correct or if there is really a prob so annoying :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate

I just bought a 04 4.0 3 months ago and it did the same thing a couple of times but it went away.

You will hear the compressor turning on - loud clicking usually. Have always heard it on mine from day 1. As long as it's not clicking every 2-3 seconds, you're OK.

yeah i kinda noticed that when i looked at other explorers and they made the same noise wonder why ford has not decided to address this annoying chirp cause its not a pleasant sound i mean i know compressor is supposed to kick but dam this is kinda loud and its the same on the mercury moutaineer well thats why i decided to lease the car before i decide if i want to buy it or now so far im happy with it but then again its been a month thanks for the info
