You have to push against the head of bolt. Put the bolt back in all the way, then back out about half inch and then pull. Keep repeating untill the bolt is all the way out. The last 1/4 inch or so you will have to tap out by hammer. You can not get to the crankshaft like on other engines. The 4.0L balancer has a built-in washer covering the end of the crankshaft.
