its not overheating but it heats up very fast and the temp gauge is more then 3/4 of the way up is that normal

May be a sticking thermostat. The 3/4 way would make me watch it closely. You don't say where you are or what the temperatures there are though.

mine sits right at the bottom left corner of the temp symbol on the guage. also if the thermostat isn't stuck your fan clutch can be bad too.

yupp you were right it was the fan clutch. a 168 dollars later and the problems solved
