- 2006 Explorer EB V8 4WD
Not only my first post here, but my first Ford, and first SUV, though I've been driving Lincoln Town Cars and Mercury Grand Marquis for the last thirty years. Wife is tired of sedans, so I just closed a deal on a 2006 Explorer Eddie Bauer. We'll take delivery on October 11th, but for now it's sold.
Only issue I know of on the vehicle is the adjustable foot pedal isn't functioning correctly. The pedals move away when rocker switch pressed forward, but will not move back. When one of the memory seat positions is selected (can't remember if it was position one or two) the pedals move back all the way, as does the seat. I suspect it's the actual pedal position rocker switch, but that may be too simple. I asked if they could get that switch for me at their cost, which the salesman said he could do. I don't have much leverage now, because the deal is done, and they went as low as possible on the price. I don't see anything listed in their advertised specs for the vehicle about memory seats or powered pedals, so they're not really obligated to fix this as far as I know.
Should I request a diagnostic of the Driver Seat Module? Would it throw a trouble code for the actual problem? Is that an expensive, time consuming task? They'll have the vehicle at their facility for the next four days, so now would be the time to get this straightened out.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
