Have a 06 V8 Explorer. (130,000KM)

It does not throw a CEL, but I am having odd issues.

1. A slight stumble at idle when in park, and only when at normal operating tempatures. While at stop light in drive I do not feel it.

2. There is slight hesitation from dead stop with slow/med acceleration alot of times.

3. There is sometimes a hard 1-2 shift on slow/med acceleration until I accelerate that way a few times then computer seems to relearn. It seems though the hard shift is there more often now than not.

4. There is lurching bucking in what I assume is 1st in parking lot with foot slightly on throttle, until it decides to shift out of that gear then its fine.

5. There seems to be a flat dead spot in the throttle now. I will be driving at 50-60km for example, and I will give it throttle to increase speed. It seems like it requires more throttle as well. Now what will happen is I can get to 3000rpm in around there, and she will eaither drop back down to just about 1000rpm, or I have to work a tad harder to get it past that point. If I don't get it just right sometimes she may drop down a gear. It will do this at any speed. If I shut overdrive off I tend to notice more of when I give gas and let off gas, but acts the same way(hard to describe).

If I wot from dead stop she seems to shift fine with a fair amount of power maybe lacking some?

6. She was burning rich I recently had to replace the cats.

Things I have done so far.

1. Latest Software Update.
2. New Plugs(motorcraft), and yes two of them broke off..
3. New Cats
4. New O2 sensors
5. New Fuel filter
6. New Air Filter
7. Injector cleaning service from dealership that cleans out injectors valves blah blah, not the dump in tank stuff.

For some reason I am leaning towards the TPS sensor failing, but I am not sure. I am not a mechanic and thats why I am here lol.

Whats your thoughts on this could it be a TPS?

My suggestion would be to clean your throttle body and see what happens after that.

Thanks for the reply. The throttle body is clean as a whistle. Still has the symptoms. I have a set of 8 cops on order, that I will try replacing first. The reason why I did the plugs was I had a misfire on 3. So maybe a cop on the way out?

spark plug wells fill with water, especially 3,4,7,8.

Ok I recieved my COPS. Hopefully I can get to them this weekend.

I have a quick question though. What is the correct way to put dielectric on the boots? I see some people only putting dielectric on the end of boot, where boot meets sparkplug. I also see others pulling the boot and greasing up the entire inside with a screwdriver.

Whats the correct way?

Thanks

Well i figured out how to put the dielectric on. I went the path of coating inside of boot and the ends.

The good news was she is running great again.

The #8 coil was atleast bad. It had a pretty good crack at the top of it, go figure the last coil I changed.

The miss/stumble at idle is gone. Took her out for a spin, the crazy hard shift is gone, and everything else seems to be ok. So far so good, fingers crossed.

Thanks for the help, to the people who responded.
