I was rear ended in my 08 Explorer a few months ago, the impact pushed the frame forward into the spare tire, dented the hatch and cracked the left rear turning lamp assembly. A couple of years before the. accident I had the fuel fill inlet recall fixed, after the accident , all of a sudden, I have a fuel fill inlet error in the message center. The claim rep states:
""""so sorry to hear that you haven't heard anything back at this time. I called and spoke with Mike, he informed that they did review the situation and there was no evidence of any damage to the rear qrt panel or fuel line from this accident. As that is the case he is unable to relate the issue to this loss.
My recommendation at this time would be for you to take your vehicle to your local Ford dealership and have them do a diagnostic to find out what the issue is. If they can relate the issue to the accident we will need to do a secondary inspection with that shop. If it is something that is related to the loss we will be happy to take care of the Diagnostic fee along with the repairs. If it is not relatable to the loss all fees would be out of pocket. """"
So, my thought is:
I was rear-ended - hard!!! the fuel fill inlet is in the rear of my vehicle and now it is loose or won't shut- How can this just be coincidence????? This body shop MISSED the cracked turning lamp the first time- so I'm not all that confident in their diagnostics
Opinions please?
