I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with back power window weatherstrip, mine fell into bed when rolling up after examination found it covered with glue took to ford dealer body shop he shook his head & said I'll get back with you.Sure hope this not a factory install thinking maybe dealer had to quick fix before selling!

Are you talking about the bottom piece on the outside, that "wipes" the glass?

yes, looking on ford parts illustration it doesn't even show outside wipe only inside . I am interested to hear what local FORD bodyshop guy says I saw the same printout in his hand when I was leaving. Thanks for the comeback.

I've only ever run into one other person that had this come out and it was on a Gen 1 Trac. I had a broken up window and I cut that whole section and sent it to him. I couldn't get the piece you're talking about to come loose from the frame. If you still have the piece be careful and don't lose it ! ! The inside piece is separate but the outside is SUPPOSED to be bonded to the frame of the window.

Same Problem

I had something similar, the weather strip bent to the inside of the window, I took it to the dealer and they had to order the part from Chicago (I'm in San Diego) apparently the whole window had to be replaced including the up/down parts, it took 3 days to have my truck back:thumbdwn:

]ncranchero, not sure what frame you mean the outside piece isn't or wasn't in a frame but then again I'm not exactly sure how it WAS attached & neither did the ford body shop manager know today, said he was working on it wish me luck evidently it's not to common problem. Hope I don't go thru what locoloco58 did 3 days to long.

Ask and you shall receive an answer. This happened to me I brought it in and they ordered the weather strip. It was the inside one they called ford and guess what they don't sell it alone, so the dealer had to get the whole back window. Thats right a 10 dollar weather strip and it cost ford 1000 for the whole back window. I just laughed what a waste.

Haven't heard back from my ford guy yet you say your inside strip I saw that one on the ford part list but it didn't have its own part #. It does seem a waste replacing weather strips means new window replacement. I tried to replace my back strip in what appeared to be a channel it was difficult & didn't really fit right but hope it's tight enough to keep the rain to a minimum.

Sorry I reread my post and it was the outside strip they mistakenly ordered the inside. When they tried to order the outside ford said they don't sell it alone. They had to order the entire back window not just the middle piece seems it is all one unit.

Guess I will get the same news have you had yours replaced yet? & if so how long in shop?

You might want to check with other parts counters at different dealers.

I was told the pins for the bed extender were only available with the purchase of a entire bed extender kit. Different dealer charged me $15 and had them the next day.

It's sitting at the dealer I think I am going to drop it off tonight. I can't see it taking more than a day.

Mine broke about 2months ago. First I tried krazyglue and it didn't work. The Ford Bodyshop put some double-sided tape on instead and that has since worked. They told me the same thing about the whole back window, so they said hopefully this would work (I'm still under warranty, so they'd be paying).

If it's still under a warranty then accept nothing less than a replacement window or you'll be replacing it on your dime later. The double-sided tape 3M makes is great stuff, use it regularly for lots of things. It's NOT and acceptable "repair" for your weatherstrip problem on a warrantied vehicle.

Well mine is getting replaced today I agree ncranchero let them cover it under warranty. My fear was it leaking because they have to remove the whole rear window. I was told this will not be a problem the rear window actually unbolts so it is easy to remove and install.

The "bolts" are molded into the back glass frame. Red dots are where the holes are in the cab for the window to mount.

Run it through a car wash a few days after they install it to make sure no water leaks in.

We are getting pounded with rain right now so I will see tonight if it leaks. I will also spray a hose on it if it doesn't leak with that I should be good. Thanks for the pic.
