My motor developed a miss, so Im changing plugs and wires, and I went to get the wires, and well autozone didnt carry and neither did advanced auto parts, so I went to a local auto parts store that carries everything, and they costed me 120 dollars..why are they so much??

NAPA has them for $66. Maybe your local part store just charges too much.

I remember a few years back, my dad needed wires for his 560SEL.........they were $250 a set.

what brand did you get?

You could have went to a speed shop and made custom wires cheaper than that.

Buy the plug caps seperate and the wire is about $2/ft.

I live in alaska, i went to NAPA and mine cost $52 for OHV enging....they were $36 for OHC

Ford Parts Networks sells the Motorcraft wires for the OHV for just over $40, and the SOHC is under $30 I believe.

I feel your paint though, the wires for my Lincoln are $110 at Ford Parts Network, they are about $150 from the stealer. :(

5.0 with the DIS ingnition, cant make custom wires, motorcraft doesnt even make the 9mm performance wires for it. They had three differnt sets for my explorer, one was 66.00, one was 74.00, and the ones I needed were 120.00, mine is a 98 1/2 explorer, so it need special wires for some reason, they have a metal boot, and like springs inside the boots, i never seen anything like theses wires before. From the factory they were 198.00..so any advice on changin the wires and plugs? I have changed plugs and stuff on everything, im not motor inclinded at all..but I heard that you really cant route the passanger side wires the way there were from the factory? I guess Ill just go thru the inner fender well to get to them..
