Ok this is my problem I am in the process of getting a 5.5" Superlift and it has come time for me to choose rims. All that I hear about is people using either stockers, 15x8's or 15x8.5's with a certain amount of back spacing. I want to go with black steel 15x10's with beadlocks. I just want to know if any body has done this and if there is any certain backspacing I will need to use or can i just use regular 15x10s.
thank for the help.
Robbie

Robbie,

It would help if we knew what size tires you plan to use with the 10" wheels.

William- I checked out the website, thanks you very much, but i have a concern, somewhere on the site it listed that the black beadlocks, should only be used for offroad use. Are they jsut making a statment or am igoing to have problems with highway or street driving, do you know???

Robbie, I just put 15 X 10's on my 94 XLT. There wearing some nice 33 X 12.5's now. I rubbed a little bit on the plastic rocker panel piece at the back of the wheel well. I cut it for clearence and don't expect any problems.

I had discount tires trila fit my wheels and tires before purchase. I kept asking about backspacing and he said it was just a standard backspacing???? Anyway try a test fit if you can.

I am running 15x10 Centerline H/T with 33x14.00 Boggers on my Explorer with no problems. I have 3 3/4" back spacing. Stock is 4" something, I'm not sure exactly. I have been looking at the black beadlocks for mine also, and the 15x10 with 3 3/4" backspacing is what I was going to get.

Robbie, i really like your idea, 15x10's sounds great. I own a 92 sport with 4wd. I am very eagerly looking for all black rims, but am very unsuccessful. I have a 3" suspesionlift. Any information you can give me, or when you find out more about your rims please let me know. Oh and what size tires are you planning to fit on those rims??

Tim - As I understand it, beadlocks are not approved by the DOT for use on streets and highways.

I'm under the same understanding as Tyson, that the wheels are not dot approved for street use, Just think about one of those bolts flying off at 70 mph or so. Not a good picture.
Plus no real good way to balance the wheel and tire combo.
The factory back spacing is 4.75"(I think?) I just had a local tire shop order a set of wheels and what I did was have them call the wheel manufactuers and ask what wheels the offered in 15x10 with the 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern with between 3.75" - 4.00" back spacing, then I picked the wheels I liked best. Good luck with your wheel hunting.
