I think I got a "stuck" thermostat that I would like to replace. Wich thermostat should I get 180F or 195F and why? I live in LA where is mostly hot. My driving is about 95% freeway. Does 15F really makes that much of a difference? and wich one is stock?
195 is stock. I had a Jet 180 degree in... and I boiled over... so I guess it was stuck.. but it was only 2 months old... anyways... so I replaced it with a 195... Winters coming on anyways...
This was one of the first things I did. I have never seen a Ford stat last more than 25K. I put in a 195, and after that added 3mpg. that was well over a year ago here in NC, which does see some extremes. I need to it on my sons 95 Ranger now, and if you thought changing the stat on the Sploder was hard, the Ranger setup is that you cannot even SEE the stat housing.
anyway, go with the 195.
