Ok, well I drug the 2.3 Turbo out from under the work bench and prepped it to go on the engine stand this evening:

Here's a shot of it before I clean it, disaasemble, port the exhaust manifold, paint and then reassemble, so I can drop it in the car:

You'll notice in the picture above that I had to make a repair to the intake manifold, cause of erroson due to electrolysis, if I hadn't repaired this is would have been a coolant leak forsure.

Now that I got one stage of the project complete, I can move on to the others.

If I can get the weather to cooperate and warm up to above 75deg (LOL) I can media blast the engine compartment, door jambs, and trunk jamb, and go for priming and painting them.

Once I have that taken care of, I can fix the issues in the body and move on to painting hte car it's self.

Well it looks like rear floor pannel replacement is on the list of things to do now :/

Well trying to fit this car in around everything else is kinda difficult, and of course the tempatures are affecting when I can actually get around to painting.

I don't want to remove all the front sheet metal and media blast the engine compartment to raw metal till I know that I can prime and paint it all in the same day, plus I don't need a car partally dismanteled in front of my house to make the neighbours look sideways at me.

I did however find this really cool cordless sawzall:

This sweet little jewel was $120 and seeing as though one full floor pan is $115 (and you can't get halves) this was perfect for me to be able to zip out a set of pans from a car in the salvage yard.

Plus I can still use it around the house too.

The cool thing is it has a narrow head/adj.shoe that will let me get in close to the edges to be able to get the full rear pan.

As soon as I get through with the Cobra I have here I'll run over and get the floor pans to replace, and with that some pictures too.

Little cold and crappy to go romping around in the salvage yards, so I had LRS send these over!!!

I love a good resto...especially when I don't have to pay for it. :p:

Heck, if your son doesn't want the stick mustang I'll take it off your hands. :D

Yeah I like watching others do it to, save me the getting dirty, nasty, cut up, burned, and covered in overspray, but I do enjoy the out come when it's done.

As for the LX, he isn't really all that interested in driving, nor learning to drive a stick vehicle, which to Lori and I is kinda weird, but hey that's kids these days, as for selling it, I really don't think you want to know what the asking price is, so I just use is for occasionally putting around in to keep the battery charged up.

Other than that is pretty much just sits around, although Lori usually will hassel me about it needing to be driven

looks good jeff. did you try what we were talking about earlier today, or not going to bother.

Well.......... a holiday or two, and a run here and there, most of it will be covered by something, and I haven't painted in 20 years, so I don't feel so bad.

And yes the steering shaft and the upper strut mounts will get re-shot the correct colors.
