1991 Ford Explorer: Transmission trouble.

I bought a used transmission for my explorer. I can't get the torque converter to go into the transmission. She's supposed to go in three notches, she'll go in the first two, but I can't get her to go past the third, any suggestions?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the transmission section. Are you sure that it's not at the bottom? Tilt the transmission at a 45* angle, and keep turning the torque converter until it bottoms out. Is this a rebuilt torque converter? Are you sure that they gave you the correct one?
