Working on a 1991 explorer XLT 4 door automatic. In front of the master cylinder on the inner fender is a 3 wire bundle headed down towards the starter/block area. The wire colors are brown/white stripe, brown/yellow stripe, and black. The brown was hard to see and might have been purplish instead. The connector was cut off and I don't have a clue if it was 2 or 3 connections or what shape/color.

I have no clue where it goes or what it is for. The rear ABS light is on all the time as a possible clue.

HELP!!!!

Thanks

wires for rabs are y/lg, lb/r, t, bk/w so i think there is no connection. wires you describe may be for aux, fog lights or something?

Purple/yellow is one of the colors that goes down to the automatic transmission (heads down the driver side of the engine).. If that was cut you'd be missing the 3/4 (to OD) shift. IIRC the tcc (converter lockup) was orange/yellow...

If you transmission is shifting into OD and locking the converter then it's not those wires...
