1992 EGR Valve.

How hard is it to replace the EGR valve on a 1992 X? From what I hace read, this may be the culprit for my pinging. Switched gas, new plugs, wires, cleaned the MAF, and no change. I believe the EGR valve sits on the top of the engine, near the front, slightly to the passenger side...am I right? Is it tough to replace and how much do they cost?

David, as far as I know, EGR valves are usually found on the exhaust manifold/headers. Am I wrong? All I'm 100% confident about is that my X doesn't have EGR.

I have wanted to ask this question for a few years,
Does the 92 Explorer with the 4.0L OHV engine have an
EGR Valve ?
Iv'e been all over my engine and have not found it yet ?
