I have a problem with the 3.0 v6. It will start and run for a few seconds then stop. If I disconnect the M A F sensor it will run great. As soon as I plug the MAF in it will stop. I can leave the MAF plugged in and remove the air tube from the air intake and it will continue to run. As soon as I fit the tube back on the air intake the engine stops. I got the codes out of the computer and I get a 212. That is a bad thin film ignition module / shorted spout.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I would start with the "cheap and easy."

Clean the MAF filament. Use electrical contact cleaner spray...(or some use other sprays, but make sure it is MAF element-safe, usually marked on the can). Do not touch the MAF filament, spray it on let it air dry. Never use compressed air to dry it. Clean it twice.

Inspect the MAF housing and tube for dirt and obstructions while you have it out.

Inspect the wires leading to/from the MAF. You're looking for chafing, exposed spots, etc.

Do the above first, before thinking about replacing the MAF. I hope that is not necessary, but it might be.

The M A F sensor is new. I tried two new sensors and a used one from a running engine. The air duct is new. I cleaned the injectors, new plugs, new rotor, new cap. fuel pressure is ok.
