i have a 1993 ford ranger 2wd 4 cylinder 5 speed 155,000 miles. and my truck wont start i have a 12volt + new batter, new starter, new starter slynoid. and i turn my keys everything powers on but i dont hear anything no click and the starter doesnt kick on but when i put a screw driver on the syloid it starts right up ive replaced the syloind twice and it holds a current cuz i tested it with a volt meter i cant think of anything else to try or ideas guy thanks, jeff

sounds like the switch is bad. Haven't ever fixed one on a ford but if its like a Chevy which I'm sure it is close its a big pain. I'd recommend just getting a push button mounting it somewhere on the dash and then connecting it to the solenoid basically doing what you do with the screw driver just from inside the cab. so instead of just turning the key you would turn the key to on then press the button very simple and a 15 minute fix.
